mariposa, butterfly in spanish, is just a poem about a butterfly who at first emerges as the glorious, wonderful being, enjoying the gifts life has thrown at her, then is all of a sudden bombarded with trials and tribulations that she succumbs to. it was more of an attempt of me getting back to writing long poetry, which is something i aspire to do more of this year. it's not necessarily meant to be melancholy, but just to show how someone might progress through life or anything you'd want to apply it too. maybe later on, i'll revise it with a much happier ending <4
lies there on the hard core ground, a hazel cocoon
a painted winged creature soaring takes to the air
a bit hinged and small-winged, yet so in tune
in tune with the breeze, as ideal as crystal ware
perched upon a bough
wrapped within a tree
her wired legs sat, flawlessly tied in a bow
the big blue sky calls her name, stroke with an aroma of vigor
flutters along with the rhythm of the wind
dun dun dun dun, the waves of the beat drums bigger
crossing her eyes causing her to be blind,
blind to the the branches that obstruct the cleared path
sprouting from the stumps in the soil
forming a maze, and filling her with wrath
wrath that she's been disrupted
that her path has been obscured
her wings have been clipped and corrupted
held a prisoner, her story obstructed
soaring through thick and thin
the melody reshapes to cacophony
darting under, over, circling the limbs
as she navigates her way around the fruit tree
the pace of the drums gets quicker
the foul aroma outspread get thicker
one by one, branches start to appear
her heart shaped wings can barely bare-
PLANK
mariposa adheres
stripped of the ability to move her ware
she comes to halt, becoming too wear
lies there on the hazel-colored branch
her core print tinted
hinged, broken winged, in discord
in discord with the wind, no more crystal ware
her heart lies their broken and bare
and wings bedizened, with a tear.
